Pleasy Cheesy !

You know why I love Twilight so much? It's because the love story is so unbelievable beautiful. The Story let's you escape reality and dive into a dream world. *big sigh* Most of you know how incredible emotional I am and I cry at the tiniest hind of sweetness or tragic. Seriously, if I see something unbelievable sweet, my eyes start to water! Like, I cry every time I hear Bellas speech at the end of Eclipse! I do! Many things can trigger my tears to water and I love to read books that can do that, and I love movies that do that - a lot!

Anyhoodle,I was sick last week, nothing big just a cold that made me stay in bed or cuddle on the couch. I had this urgent longing for romance, cheesy heartbreaking romance. I could have watched Twilight again, but I did a Twilight session the week before and I think I know all three movies right now by heart, so I needed something where I don't know any line already. So I searched my Video on Demand and found exactly what I needed, and I found the epitome of cheese!

I started with - do you all sit? - "High School Musical 3"!!! Yes, shoot me now and yes you are very welcome to laugh! But it was fun, and I'm open and honest enough to admit that I liked it! It was definitely cheesy but so sweet! And, you can say whatever you want but Zac Effron is hot. There, I said it. He's young (way too young) but I cannot deny that he looks cute, period!

Aren't the cute?

After I was already in the mood, I watched "The Prince and Me", basically a typical story about a prince that fals in love with a normal girl! Sweetness! Besides, the Prince was called Edward - Thank you very much!

Well, I'm not yet done, two more cheesy pieces to come. Next in line was "A Cinderella Story", which was basically exactly a Cinderella Story placed in High School and modern times. Perfectly cliche and cheesy!!

gimme a good kiss!
My last piece of the cheesecake was "The Last Song" based on a Novel from Nicolas Sparks and this one made me cry the whole last third part of the movie. It was heartbreaking and romantic.
Taken together it was a day curled up on my couch with tons of hot coffee and tea and full of love and romance. It was a perfect day to escape reality and daydreaming and I hated it when the day was over and I ad to face reality again. But, once in a while I need that. I need heartbreak and tears and the perfect happily ever after and all of those movies above had exactly that. Truth, none of them are epic movies but all of them were sweet and lovely, and I have no shame to admit this!

This was basically like reading the whole day, which I love to do as well. But, watching a movie is like reading a book fast forward. Nothing can compete with a good book, truly not but once in a while seeing love on a screen is just as sweet as reading about it. Well, and some of the guys in those movies above a eye-candys which didn't hurt at all.

So girlies, you can be honest here - we are among ourselves ...
do you also love a cheesy movie
or
are such movies way too cheesy
 or
do you find such movies just and simply bad ?

And, do you have good recommendations for me for my next cheesy movie session?
I'm open, to suggestions!

Oh and yes, you can also tell me how bad my movie taste it!
I can take it! :)

What makes this girl happy next week?

I have an incredible week ahead of me. Well, it would be even better if I wouldn't have to work, but I take what I get. Hubs already said that my productivity next week might drop dramatically - he might be right.

Ok first: I get CS5 next week and I'm freaking out over this.
CS5 you might ask?
WTF is this?

It's the newest Creative Suite version that includes the newest versions of Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver (and more) and... this is BIG! When I heard that I can get my hands on it, I was freaking out like a kid and promising myself to the guy who told me to get it for me. Well, I didn't do it literally, I guess hubs would have had something to say about this, but still I was clapping hands and dancing which was enough for embarrassment ......

I spend the next hour figuring out what this new version can do and Girls!
I'm in Photoshop Heaven!!
*insert angels music here*

Then, I get something all of you US girls won't be familiar with but I tell you anyway since it's my blog ... uhm ..Yees... US and German Television differs quite a bit, but I truly won't go into detail nobody is interested anyway. Let me just say, next week I get an new TV entertainment program that gives me tons of additional channels, and the ability to watch TV time shifted, and so on and on... Believe me, this is nothing that is common in Germany so I was squeeing ( *rolls eyes* ) again, when hubs told me he has it ordered!!
Can't wait to check it all out,
Ohhh the possibilities!!!

Next wonderment: I finally get my new Kindle!!!
Wooooot!!!
double Wooooootttt!

uhm..., why the heck do I get a new Kindle? What happened to the old one?

Well, as soon as I read that there is a new Kindle coming out end of the August I made hubs selling my "old" Kindle at ebay. And, I was lucky enough to get enough money to buy me the new approved Kindle!!!!!

Friday night, I got the confirmation that it's been send and is supposed to arrive Tuesday or Wednesday! Although I have my beloved iPad and read the books there, I still miss my Kindle - badly! So please my precious little thing come to me, soooon!!!

Last but so not least: I might or might not get Crescendo next week!

Did you read hush, hush this awesome book we are discussing at cuties blog at the moment? The Book about Patch this incredible sexy bad boy aka Fallen Angel? No? But then, you should consider it, most definitely.

Anyhoodle, the sequel to hush, hush called Crescendo will be released in October and I'm so dying to read this effing book!!! Last week the Bookworms were contacted if we would like to review hush, hush and ... also crescendo. It took all my strength (plus pushy and Heather!!) not to write a totally psycho maniac answer back like:

" YEEESS, FREaking OUT, send it OVER like NoowwWW!"
I didn't .. which was probably a good thing to do...

Anyway, they were awesome enough to let pushy send a copy to me to Germany, because normally ARC's aren't send outside of the US. But pushy ( my looooveeely pushy) offered to sent the copy to me, so as soon as she get's it - and has time...- she sends this precious little book over to me! *squeee* *doublesqueeee*

The Cover alone looks like awesomeness!

So now have fun with my musical choice for this post!!
I listened to it while
writing this post, like... uhm.. often...

Well, I just figured that this posts let me sound like a total maniac, but who cares? I get Photoshop 5, T-Home, my new Kindle and Crescendo!

So yes, next week will most definitely be a good week! Unless tonights TB episode makes me again pissed... so this effing episode will better be good Mr. Ball.

Have a wonderful remaining Sunday!

Why I'm so pissed with True Blood Episode 31...

...and I'm really pissed and I feel cheated! I do love Alan Ball for creating True Blood and for the cast and for making it one of the best shows ever! I've seen every episode out so far and I've seen Season 1 and 2 at least twice. Apart from that I read all the Sookie Stackhouse books from the lovely and talented Charlaine Harris. So I can consider myself a little mature fangirl.

I adore adore AdOre! This poster,
I would love to hang it in my office but ..
well my workmates are just lame!
So I have at as Desktop background and on my iPad.

True Blood is undeniable different from the books, although they try to take the essence of the books and stay true to them. I don't mind the changes, no - not at all! I'm happy that all the secondary characters have so much more story and appearance than in the books. I'm happy that Lafayette didn't die at the end of Season 1, because Lafayette is an awesome funny and a great character. I love that Bill had to create Jessica since she's a great addition to the show!

this just serves the
purpose to pretty up my post...

I waited anxiously for the start of Season 3 and I loved the first episodes! Russel is awesome and I laughed my ass of my ass of Franklin and Tara. How hilarious!!! I like the sidestory with Eric and learn more about his backstory. But hey, I do love everything about Eric....

Would you please come in Mr Northman?

Ok now, why I am so pissed at the last episode after I declared my love so clearly?

I'm talking about Episode 30 I got It Right Into The Blues. I was excited about to see this because I read the books and I knew (at least I thought I knew *frowns*) what was coming... As I said I don't need them to stick perfectly with the books, still it would be nice to let the importance scenes in... *frowns more*.

But after watching - I was and felt so freaking cheated! Sookie is at the King's house and needs to get out there and help Bill to escape. So far everything is right. Now comes the change..: Since Tara is also held hostage from Franklin ( *giggles*) in the same house, Tara drinks Franklins Blood to be strong enough to rescue herself and Sookie. Hu?!?!?!?!?!
Yes, it was Tara who helped Sookie to flee. Tara?!! What the Fuck?!!?! This is where I couldn't believe it ...

In Club Dead, the third book we have the same circumstances, Sookie is in Russels house and needs someone to help her to flee. But, it was ERIC.fucking.Northman who helped her and even more he gave her his blood so that she has enough strengh to flee and even rescue Bill. And *takes a deep breath* it was one of the hottest and sweetest scenes between Eric and Sookie so far.

I even looked it up in the book, just so that I didn't dream that:

Club Dead
Paperback
Chapter 10
page 188 - 189

He carefully eased me up against him, my chest to his back, and wrapped his arms around me.(...) Then she starts drinking... (...) Eric moaned, and I could tell quickly that he was once again pleased to be in such close contact. (...) Eric pressed against me harder, and suddenly he said "Ohhhh" and relaxed all over.
I wanted to see this! Not Tara rescuing Sookie! I wanted to see Sookie drinking Eric's blood and him getting excited about this. I even think it was important to show how Eric feels about Sookie. Yeah , I know we get all his daydreams about her and his weird acting and pretending he doesn't care about her makes sense and doesn't really bother me. But I wanted to see THIS. I mean, obviously (if you follow the books) Eric and Sookie will get together. They cannot change that, or will they??? I'm afraid now.
I might overreact a bit, but really I felt really REALLY (like really really) cheated. I so badly wanted to see this interaction with Eric and Sookie and I didn't get it. *shakes head in frustration*

How is it for you?
Did you read the books and can feel my anger over this?
Or do you just watch the show and care more about *cough* Bill?

The Epic Eclipse Chicago week!!! *squeee*

*takes a deeeeeppppp breath* Where do I start ? I had such a fantastic week, I don't even know where to begin and what I loved most.. Well let's start at the beginning!

June 30th last year I started this baby blog here. This is one fucking year ago - I can't believe it. When I started this blog I didn't know in what I got myself into, but now one year later I'm soo glad I did this! I've told you this before but my first comment ever was from cutie (SSTB) and then came onepushyfox, uhyesplease, and Annie. This all happened July 9th.

I still see myself smiling like an idiot because "Ohmygod, Icantbelieveit someone comment on my blog!!!!!!"...

Now, one year later I didn't loose contact with them - I meet them in Chicago to see Eclipse together!
Please, how freaking awesome is this???
Start cheering for me NOW!

The idea started half a year ago and involved an immmeeennnnsssseee planning from onepushyfox to get us all together. In the end we were 15 girls meeting all in Chicago to spend time chatting, giggeling, hugging ( a lot of hugging was involved) and seeing THE movie.

onepushyfox, uhyesplease, Betti,
Aimee, Susie, bierbeck, donnersun, Becky-Boddles,
Heather, Reanna, fragile little human,
Memory-Jean, FireCrotch, Bitches and me (obvious)

I give you the awesomantic agenda of this week, here we go : (I won't post any pictures to respect the privacy of the girls!)

Monday, 28th: Me is flying from Munich to Chicago ( thanks hubs for the buisness class ticket - I love you soooo much ...) pushy met me at the airport and the first thing we did was hugging. It was sooooo great to finally hug her for real and she is such a lovely person!
Short stop at my hotel where we also met uhyesplease and Betti ( who arrived earlier) - loooottttss of hugging again! Together, we went to pushys home where we also met her super lovely husband, he's so sweet! We met at a Hot Dog place to grab something to eat with donnersun, Bex, bierbec, Heather and her super cute son and husband. Later this evening fragile arrived with her awesome husband ( who is just soo great!!)

We had a wonderful evening at pushy's porch! We had wine and cigarettes (all things to make me happy) and we just talked and talked and talked. It never felt awkward it felt as if we'd know each other since forever. It was perfect !!!

Tuesday, 29th: After little to no sleep pushy, uhyesplease, Betti and me grabbed a Starbucks coffee and went outside for a cigarette. ( Well, Betti and me...) It was so perfect that my hotel had a Starbucks, thank god for this!!! The 4 of us went to lunch and just kept talking and talking... We went back to the hotel to get a nap before the big Eclipse party begins. Pushy came earlier to my room to set everything up - she's perfectly organized like this!

And then the biigg party started!!

Imagine 15 squeeing girls in oneeee big room! I was afraid when I first saw my room and I never ever thought we would all fit inside but we did. It was perfect!

We had a blast!!! (and I was glad no one came and told us to shut the F** up, I mean we were really loud! )

uhyesplease organized some games which were sooo much fun!!! Including a white elephant gift exchange which was sooooo great! Needless to say we giggles and laughed a.LoT !!!

Twilight and New Moon were playing in the back, but nobody watched except for the important scenes, like kissing scenes...*sigh*

Then, at 11pm we drove to the theater - and hell I was so excited! I mean, we waited for more than half a year and then finally the day is there and we gonna watch Eccclipsee!!!

Excited much? YES, sooo freaking much!

We had VIP tickets, valet parking so we didn't need to wait in line which was just perfect! Pushy (our lovely tour guide) even made a seating map. ( Gosh I love her!!)
After we grabbed seats, Popcorn and drinks and saw the epic Harry Potter trailer ( I had goosebumps all over me!) Eclipse begun.

Oh.My.Gosh.!

This.Movie.Is.Fucking.Fantastic!!!!! *squeeeeeee*

We had this biiiig huge sofa seats which was perfect! Pushy and me just clung to each other, holding hands ( we didn't even need those bigs seats.. *giggles*) and were just mesmerized by this freaking awesome movie!!! Stunning perfect!!!

This is the best movie of all of them, I can't believe how good it is!! And it was such a fast moving movie, we barely had time to catch a breath! Just.Perfect!!! It was over way too fast ...
When it was over, everyone had a smile on the face and with this smile we made the one any only group photo! I think I will frame it!

After waiting forever to get our car we finally made it back to the hotel, pushy stayed with me the night and although we wanted to talk about this awesomatic movie we were just so damn tired that we just slept.

Wednesday, 30th: After way to little sleep, pushy, uhyesplease, Betti and me went downtown to get donnersun. Because, we went to get Tattoos! It was a perfect coincidence that pushys CIL is a Tattoo Artist and has his own shop, so he came in on his free (!!) day ink us! How sweet is that ? And this guy was so great, it didn't hurt, he made it perfect and it was so fast!!!!!

I love my Tatt!!!!!

After Betti, donnersun and me got inked we had so much time left that we went and saw Eclipse again! *squeeee*I can tell it was even better the second time. So many details I missed.

In the evening we met with all the girls again in a bar to eat and have fun. We had BBQ and wine and beer and just chatted and giggled! It was a perfect evening (again). I enjoyed it so much, just hanging out and talking! It was the last day we were all together... *sad panda*

Thursday, 1th: The day uhyesplease left to get back to her kiddies ...*sooooo sadddd panda * ....
Happppyyy Birthday Heather!! Heather invited us to her house to have a BBQ and celebrate her birthday with us! It was so lovely, her sister was there with her kiddies, pushy, Betti, Susie, Aimee and me. In the afternoon Susie and Aimee left to drive home and Betti pushy and me went shoooppppppinnngg. Or, at least I shopped...
The evening we spent with pushy, Betti and her super lovely husband outside at her porch. I love this place!!!! We had some wine and it was a perfect evening! (like all of them...)

Friday, 2nd: The day Betti flew home..... Pushy came and got me to her house - again! She drove me around like crazy, I love this woman! and we just hang out with her and the kids ( which are sooooo sweeet). Heather came with her adorably son and we just had fun and chatted. Then it was time to say goodbye to Betti ... *snifffles*.
And I didn't even dared to ask, but I just did it and asked Heather and pushy if they might want to see Eclipse with me "again" this evening??
Yes!!
Three times for me and pushy, but I love it this freaking movie sooosoooooo much !!! SooooOsSsSOoOOooo much !!!
Thanks girlies for watching it again with me before
I had to go home.. *sniffles*

soooo much kissing...
such a greeeeaaaat movie!!
want to see it again!!

After that we just hang out.... yes you get it , at pushy's porch... (again!)

Saturday, 3rd: *sigh* my last day..... *sniffles* I spend the morning watching the Football (soccer for the US ppl...) with pushy's husband and the kids, it was perfect!! Germany played against Argentina and won 4:0 woooohoo!!! It was funny watching it and I was so excited we won!! Goo Germany! Then we had a BBQ and I had to go back to my hotel to pack my stuff .. *sniffles* this was a sad moment. Pushy and me spend my last hours talking and then it was time to fly home... Yes, I had water in my eyes when I hugged pushy for the last time. I love her so much... *sniffles*

So that was it, my perfect Eclipse week in Chicago! I had a blast meeting all the girls, it's wonderful that we all met and I desperately hope we can do this again. It's so sad we are living all so far apart from each other...

Girls.
I love you all so much and you will all have a spot in my heart!
*hugs all of you from afar*

Pushy:
I love you the most! Thanks for taking care of me during this
week driving me around and
being a wonderful and best host
ever!

A big surprise involving a shiny new silver thingy with an Apple!

are I think I mentioned it once or twice that I'm a tech geek. Hm, I guess this is not perfectly correct I just love shiny gadgets and especially when they have a silver apple somewhere. Yes. I admit I'm an Apple freak! When sitting on my couch you barely see me without my silver lovely MacBook (Betti refers to it as the Holy Grail), I write my posts here, I work on my thesis and I design Blogs here. If it would break, my world would fall apart. Ok oke yes I know this sounds a bit to exaggerated, but ...uhm ... just a bit.. of ..this is ..true.. ..uhm *cough*

Then, I go nowhere without my iPhone, e.g outside for a smoke ( yes I need to go on our balcony because hubs doesn't smoke and also hates it - a lot ).

My latest addition was a Kindle. Oh yes, no Apple here but the Kindle is just awesome, I love it soooo much! I love to read so this was one of the best presents hubs bought me ever.

Coming back to the real topic of the post. Friday was my fathers 65th Birthday and we ( my Mom, hubs and me) decided to get something special for this birthday. Well, you have to know that I share my silver Apple love with my Dad and he kept saying that he really would love having a iPad. Wouldn't that be a cool present? We thought it's perfect!!! And it happened that the European release date was Friday , 28th one day before Daddy's Birthday. Ha! Perfect!

I tried to pre order one but I was not lucky enough to get the first ones so hubs and me decided to be totally freaky and go directly to the shop in Munich in the morning of the release. If you know how a new Apple release works then you know that you have to be there early... Like really early to be lucky enough to get one.

Waiting in line, the only thing that made us happy was
that there were more people after us than in front of us...

The shop in Munich opened 8 am ( 2 hours earlier than normal...) and we got there at 5,30 am. Call me crazy - yes do it - you can call me freak or whatever, I can stand it. We were around number 100 in line and waited in line...

Well you can't see me , but there hubs and me are there right
where the arrow is...

8am!

Seriously, we just wanted to buy this one iPad for my Dad but...then...we...talked...and... I... thought about... Oh my Gosh... I though "how cool would it be to also go home with one for myself?"

Bääämmmm, there it was
THE Thought.
Shit.
I was screwed.

I started looking at hubs with big blue begging eyes...I know my hubs since 10 years and I just know when I get what I want. I just know when I have him right where I want him... Squeeeee!!!!

Finally when we got in front of the shop and it was our turn we bought not one iPad for my Daddy but we also bought one for ME... *does a biiiggg squeeee*

Gosh I was happy like a small girl on Christmas, I got my own iPad and I didn't even know I got one 2 hours before. How freaking awesome is this??I was so excited the whole day, and I still am and keep starring at it and just loving it and I keep smiling like an idot!

My parents (who were again on their way for a holiday in Italy) came this afternoon and I was just über-excited to give my Dad his present. He had nooo fucking clue and it was the best surprise ever! First we gave him a fake present: a new charger for his old MacBook. It didn't fit and we all played along about how bad this is and how sorry we are to get him a present he obviously cannot use.
Gosh this was fun.
Then I gave him a present and told him it was from hubs's parents and he started unwrapping it and then.... he looked inside ...
"Oh something from Apple" ( still clueless..) and when he finally realized what this is, he was so incredible stunned ... He couldn't believe it...
And, he had tears in his eyes ( well, you know that I tear up so easily and I have this from my Dad not my Mom *giggles* ) he was so thrilled and stunned and surprised it was The.Best.Surprise.Ever. Surprising my Dad is never easy but we managed like never before and this made it all so worth it!

Coming back to my iPad.

Doesn't it look stunning?
( and Yes, those are my hands trying to get a good picture with my iPhone...)

Well one question everyone keeps asking me " Does one need an iPad?" My answer is: No! It's a toy, but a beautiful one and it's fun for browsing around in the Web. It's one of those things you don't really need but it's incredible awesome to have. It makes surfing so much more fun, I spend usually a lot of time in the internet, reading emails, reading blogs, news and well also Twitter and gChat and for this it's just great!!!!

What does that means for the Kindle?

iPad vs Kindle

The iPad is also sold as an eBook reader and it was one of the first things I checked out. As an avid reader this was a must-check-out-immediately. But, it will never ever replace my Kindle!

Why?

  • Kindle is so much lighter ( less than a paperback while the iPad is rather comparable to a big hardcover)
  • the battery lasts forever (iPad battery doesn't really last long)
  • the screen is perfect to read even in the sun ( the iPad has a shiny screen which is beautiful and brilliant but not suitable to read outside)
So I would never replace my Kindle for reading, but there is an iPad Kindle app and if I want to read one of my Kindle books there I can still do it anyway. I love my Kindle and my iPad for different reasons. So my advice of you planning to buy an eBook reader and just want to read, the Kindle is the better choice. iPad is for browsing the Web and just a shiny cool toy!

I am incredible in love with the Kindle and
incredible in love LOVE love with my iPad.

What were the first things I did with the iPad?

Fist I synchronized it to have everything I need on it, address book, Safari bookmarks and such stuff. Then I went and looked at all the 100 and 1000 different apps and search for "Twilight" .

I couldn't resist and bought the SceneIt app and another game like this and I have to say those are sooooo much fun!!! Truly! And I was all arrogant and thought this would be easy and I know simply everything after watching Twilight for trillion times. Ha! The games surprised me once or twice!
Oh and I downloaded the first part of Twilight - The Graphic Novel which was free because it's just to get you hooked. Lool, it worked!! I absolutely love it and can't wait for the full release!

Wooow, long post hu? Are you are still with me? But I had to share my excitement, Friday was truly a day full of surprises and just plain awesome. I have an iPad!!! Squee, I still can't believe it.. I think I have to go and play with it now....

Sunday, May 9

Oh how I have missed this...

You may ask about what the hell I'm talking about now.
I'll tell you.

But I have to go back first....

After I saw Twilight in the theaters I desperately waited for the DVD release and actually I counted the days until I finally have this DVD at home and can watch Twilight whenever I want, how often I want.

I've seen New Moon twice on the big screen, once with Betti at the Germany premiere and once alone in the original version.
That's it, twice.

But truth to be told, I've seen it three or four times afterwards at home... bad quality, german.. well, you know what I mean... (Yes I know it's not right, but it was New fucking Moon!! Don't judge me..) But, this is not the same...

I pre ordered the DVD rather late, mostly due to this whole confusion about which version has how many freaking and exciting extras. But, the choice here in Germany was easy - there was only one version with about 3 hours of Extra. So I pre ordered it as a good Fan.

The DVD came April 15th and I haven't seen New Moon for MONTH! So you'd assume the Anticipation was immense - like desperately immense.

Strangely it wasn't....

Although I hear the Soundtrack nearly every day when driving to work, or I hear the audiobooks ( atm I'm hearing New Moon again..) So it's not like I suddenly lost my TwiLove, no definitely not. I don't actually know what was up with me. I just didn't feel like watching...

April 15th came and so was the DVD delivered and I .. just brought it .. home. *shrugs* I mean yes, I was happy and all and I smiled at my DVD (which is kinda weird, smiling at a DVD but, oh well ...) but I didn't even unpack it.

Weeks passed and I didn't watch it.

Until today!

I have no fucking clue what was different today but all over sudden I felt like I desperately want to watch New Moon.

And Oh boy, I did!

And I not even watch New Moon, afterwards I watched the Extras and I'm not done yet and when I finished this post I go back and watch the rest.
But you know what the best thing was? It nearly felt like the first time I saw it, and this is incredible, It was so wonderful and truly truly what I needed! I won't go into detail again about me being always so damn close to cry but New Moon makes me cry nearly the whole movie!

Yes, you can laugh bit it's still true! If I wouldn't look so bad right now, I would show you my red eyes now to prove it, so you just have to believe me,

It felt so good! The movie went again right and straight into my heart. The most desperate scene

October

November

December

is for me still the best scene in the whole movie. It perfectly delivers and transports the emotions needed in that moment. The song just fits perfect!!

KStew's performance was awesome, TayTay was great and won my heart with this movie and Rob was just *sighs heavily* Rob, Robward, Edward...

All I want to say, I'm out of the New Moon numbness and now I'm right back to wait desperately for Eclipse.
To be back with the story that
won my heart so entirely like no story before and
probably none that will come later.

Let's celebrate!

Truly, I can't believe that this is happening so fast! Just 2 month ago I created this Book Blog together with my friends and now we celebrate our 100th Follower!

I mean seriously, this is huge! I never expected that our blog will attract so many readers in such a short amount of time! 2 month, go figure! Even more incredible is that we got 30 new Followers over one fucking night!?!?! It took nearly a year until we reached here 140 Follower, but this might be due to the fact that my lameness is hidden at the bookworms by the incredible wonderful people I run this blog with!

Ok, and yes I get that this enormous over night increase is simply due to this fantastic giveaway we are holding at this very moment. If you know me a bit, then you know that I'm a big sucker for giveaways, and I'm not talking about myself winning something (well yes, this is cool too!) but I love to give away stuff, I love to share and I love making people HapPy.

Take Christmas, I'm not just like a small kid when it comes to open my presents, but I also (if not more) love watching other people open their packages they get from me. I just love that, it makes me happy when I can make other people happy.

Since we saw that we soon reach our 100th Follower at the Bookworms, we started collecting stuff to give away and I searched on etsy like forever for lovely stuff to giveaway.

I adore etsy, looking at all those wonderful creative people who sell the prettiest things! I could spend all my money there... (I guess hubs is glad that I don't...).

AnYhoOoDle!

You can all join the fun of our giveaway and we have 6 awesome prizes plus a Custom Blog Layout (from myself, just saying...). Among books, we also have sweet shiny sparkling things and lovely girly stuff, so I can proudly say that this giveaway is aweseomness!

So click the Button and join the Fun!
(you can see all our prices as thumbnails in the button!)

I have to give a special shout-out to pushy, because she's always as excited about the Bookworms as I am and I truly TuLY LoVe her , like a lot!! Love you girl, and I can't wait to see you in June!

Me is on vacations, Shout outs and Ramblings..

*waves*
Imagine me now with sunglasses, a delicious cup of coffee and my cigarettes sitting outside in the sun with my beloved MacBook. That's exactly me right now while writing this.

*sighs*

Unfortunately this is only one week but I truly need this. But being in vacations doesn't mean I can't be online, in fact I would be so miserable without internet connection. I know other people switch off everything when being away from home, but I can't - I need this.

Anyway, I wanted to say Hi to you and shout out a few things.

First: As you may or may not have noticed I have a new badge on my sidebar. Yes I mean this one:

Photobucket

When you are a mobile lover just like me, meaning reading on your iPhone whenever you can (or other similar devices), then this button is just awesome for you. Because... *dramatic pause* it let's you easily read blogs on your mobile phone. Awesomeness!!!! Blogs, normally are not formatted to read mobile which is a pity if you ask me. Wordpress is much better for this, when reading a Wordpress blog it's immediately formatted also as a mobile version that makes is super easy to read posts. Blogger hasn't such a thing.

But! *again dramatic pause* we have TwilightCupcake who is also a sucker for mobile devices and figured out how to transform a Blogger Blog into a Mobile-Blogger blog.

Awesome hu?? Apart from that she also set up everything for me!!! OOoooooOOo all I had to do was a Badge for my blog and that's it! Honestly, she did that already two weeks ago and I'm such a bad friend that I never managed to write this freaking post here. I suck! Yes I do, because she did all the work ...

Ohhh annnnndddd she is such a super sweet person and I'm so happy I met her and I'm hoping that she's not too mad that it took me forever for this post. (read this girl? don't be mad, pleeeassse not! I'm super thankful you did all this for me!)

Ok, her dream is that manymany TwiBlogs will follow her example and set up a Mobile Blog so that we all can read the blogs on our iPhone while sitting in the train or waiting in a queue or sitting at the airport, or *cough* in class or ... you get the point!

Ok so Blogger people out there, visit Twilight Cupcake at
  • her TwiBlog, why? Because she's sweetness and awesome. The End!
  • at the Twi-Mobile Hombase, there you find all the information you need to set up a Mobile Blog for your Blogger Blog. She has a list of Blog's which have joined already and aFAQ site and everything. And you can always ask her!
Second topic I wanted to talk about (that goes along with the first topic... )

I told you already that I run this Bookblog with seven of my friends? The Bewitched Bookwormes? Yes? Ok , good! Because sweet TwilightCupcake also set up a mobile Blog for the Bookworms! You can find it on the left sidebar!

Photobucket

This Blog really won my heart.. *sniffles* Sometimes , spontaneous ideas are the best! Just like the Bookworms blog. Beginning of the year I felt this urge to talk more about the books I'm reading and asked my friends (who are crazy about books as much as I am) if they want to join my little project... The rest is history.

I have never ever imagined that this blog will get so many readers so fast. We are at 94 at this moment which warms my heart.

Oh and do you remember end of last year what I did when my lovely Vanquish baby here reached Follower number 100?? Yes I did a huge giveaway to celebrate this... That's all I'm saying now... *winks* *smiles* *winks again* (ok stop it, the people get it.. *rolls eyes*)

You...uhm... can join us.. if you want.. that ..would be.. yes.. LOVELY.. and such and I would be .. thankful and ... such.. Uhmm .. yes.. you can click below to .... join us?

Bewitched Bookworms

Third: I wanted to remind you of my collection of Twilight stories. Noo! I'm not talking about FanFiction, I'm talking about Your very own Twilight Story!!
I will feature every week some TwiStories from you! It is soo much fun reading your stories and thinking back about how it all begun and how we found each other in the end... Cheeesy happily ever after...

So my first round was posted last Saturday and with cuties, fragiles and FireCrotch's story.

Right now, I have some emails with stories for the next post, which will be posted Next Saturday. So this will be a Saturday feature on my blog, only interrupted by vacations (like right now), earthquakes (not very likely in Germany), things-the-author-of-this-blog-cannot-foresee-at-the-moment or the simply lack of stories.
The last point you, my dear readers - followers -lurkers can prevent by simply mailing me your Story!!

Gosh, my battery is running low so I have to get to the end.... it's about time, otherwise I would go on rambling and bore you to death...

With that I close now this very long rambling post, get my Kindle lay back in the sun and read!

Your Twilight story.. Part I

First of all let me thank you for the response. I know we all love to look back once in a while to get lost in the early days when we get to know Bella and Edward and the Cullens and this whole world that enchanted and changed us.

I got some wonderful emails about all your TwiStories and I'm going to present them all after each other.

Today I will present three stories of my friends. They are all different, yet in the end the same. Lean back, read them and get lost....

My Twilight story by
Fire Crotch
from We Bite Pretty Hard:

Every Sunday while doing my grocery shopping at my local WalMart I pass by the book section and peruse the best sellers. I started seeing these simple black book covers a couple of years ago and was intrigued, but for some reason I never dared to pick one up. Something told me that it just wasn’t right. Hindsight is 20/20. Anyway, last fall I noticed my niece’s room plastered with pictures of the aforementioned “actor who had the crazy unwashed nast hair.”

Yes, I am not proud of myself, but I ridiculed the suddenly emo pre-teen. Of course, I nevertotally had anything Christian Slater taped on my walls at her age. I started wondering about the appropriateness of these books for my niece. Certainly these were too adult for her...I was concerned for her soul. Around the same time, I decided that I should get aKindle. The reason I told everyone I wanted to get one was because I was traveling all the time and carrying around 2-3 books sucked; I really wanted the Kindle so I could read books that I was too embarrassed to read with the cover showing. I had an unfortunate experience a couple of years ago on a plane while reading Jennifer Weiner’s book Good In Bed (great read btw). Nuff said. Anyway, I thought, now is my time to read this Twilight book, to make sure it’s age appropriate for my niece of course. So I saved my Christmas money and my birthday money and finally got a Kindle. It arrived on my doorstep the next day, I shipped it overnight of course. I unwrapped it, caressed it, and then had to charge it before its first use. Bah, must have instant gratification! Of course, you all know what happened next. Waiting with baited breath, I downloaded my first e-book…Why We Suck…hehe seriously, by Denis Leary, it was hilarious. Still a little wary, I waited to download my secret yearning…it seemed so wrong. But I had to do it…for my niece. And then I threw caution to the wind and downloaded Twilight. I read all of the books and Midnight Sun in a week. It was crazy. You all know how it takes over your life. I barely slept. I read the books on my iPhone during meetings. (Yeah, I'm gadgety okay?) Somehow I felt like I had cheated my book reading shame. I even admitted to my niece that I was reading the books (which she totally almost ruined for me!). I was joyful…giddy even just thinking about the world of questionable reading material that was now open to me. And then one night on a crowded plane it happened…I heard a guy behind me whisper, “hey, isn’t that a Kindle?” OMG, people were going to want to see it. What was I going to do? Panic stricken, my first thought was to jam it back in my bag and hide it. Thankfully, I was saved by the bell (the plane began its descent), and I had to turn it off and put it away.

(......) So now my secret is out…the girl blushing and fanning herself while sitting next to you on the airplane reading her Kindle definitely is not reading Jane Eyre.

Ahh Fire, first of all I didn't know you had a Kindle that long. Second: Well yes it makes sense that you only read Twilight for the sake of your nice. How veryvery considered of you! One sentence really apparently works for all of us: "You all know how it takes over your life"
*heavy sigh* yes!! It does, it's horrible at first, since you can't stop thinking about Sparkly Vamps and Edward..OhMyEdward... When I read your post it reminds me also how freaking funny you are and how I adore reading your blog. Please!! come back to blogging, do I need to kick your ass for it? Please don't let me kick you but come.please.back.! Seriously, I mean it!

My Twilight
story by
fragile little human:

When Mark Twain said that, he couldn’t have know that, many years later, grown women would be afraid to tell people how much they’ve been sucked in by a series of YA books about sparkly vampires. If so, maybe Tom Sawyer would have been a vamp, Huckleberry Finn a wolf, and Becky Thatcher the clumsy human torn between them. Then again, probably not.

Mark Twain, wondering how he missed the vamp trend

Mark Twain, wondering how he missed the vamp trend

I never had any intention of reading the Twilight series. The only vampire I ever liked was Mick St. John on Moonlight, and that had nothing to do with his being a vampire ifyouknowwhatimean. My husband likes watching those vampires-are-ugly-and-kill-with-gratuitous-violence movies, of which I’m not a fan at all. And True Blood? It’s like watching Dark Shadows meets Steel Magnolias meets porn. Worst. Accents. Ever.

Alex OLoughlin, however, has a yummy fake accent

My husband, temporarily possessed by Satan, rented Twilight from the local video store several weeks ago. My question to him: “Isn’t that a kid movie? And what’s this vampire crap?” I watched with him, fully expecting to fall asleep after a few minutes.

Then those damn Cullens walked into the cafeteria. That was all she wrote.

When I asked my SIL if she’d seen the movie, she said, “Yeah, but the book is SO much better.” Great, now I had to read the book, too. And she was right. As much as I loved the movie (yeah, so sue me), I LOVED the book. I would go to work glassy eyed the next morning, and I’m sure my coworkers thought I was on crack. I learned quickly that I needed to ration the Twilight saga reading to 4 chapters a night, no matter how much it drove me nuts.

I still haven’t read all the books, because, as an exercise in self-control, I’m taking a break in between each book. Of course, I’ve learned to fill all that time by readingTwilight blogs, so I might as well be reading the books. My husband thinks I’ve lost my mind when I sit and laugh at Twitarded’s Pocket Edward or the posts and comments at Random Acts of Rob or pretty much everything posted at Twilight Widowers Anonymous. We’ve been together almost 8 years now; he should know I’ve lost my mind.

Since he won’t read the books so I can talk to him about them and my friends are still shaking their heads at me, I started this blog. Yeah, I know, like we needed one more grown woman talking about Twilight. Deal.

*giggles* you know what I find super funny? It was in the end your husband who brought you to Twilight. You have to ask him if he ever regrets the day when he took the Twilight DVD home. So you fell first in love with the movie, I think not many started first with the movie! I so love the scene when the Cullens come into the cafeteria I always sit up in excitement when I see this scene or hear the music. It somehow never gets old! I am really in love with the movie, very much the same like with the book. However, I'm glad you started this blog, otherwise we probably wouldn't have met!

My Twilight story
by
cutie
from SSTB:

So, here is my Twi-story. It's simple, but real:

I will never forget that fate filled day when I picked up a copy of Twilight. It all started pretty innocently. It will be a year ago this August (08). I was literally living under a rock, having just had my fourth child. Surrounded by kids, diapers, dishes & countless other responsible I had reached the end of the proverbial rope. I knew where I could find instant relief, a compelling story. So I sent out a plead to all my friends, asking for someone to recommend a book. Immediately I got a reply which read as follows : If you haven't read Twilight then you MUST! I will even lend you the books if you'd like.

Trusting my friend's taste, I went out that afternoon to Barnes & Noble. I'm the kind of girl who doesn't like to wait, so I decided to pick up New Moon, as well. The next day, having finished Twilight & at that point being halfway through New Moon, I rushed to Target and bought Eclipse. Three days later I had finished all four books (I made myself wait a whole day between finishing Eclipse and buying Breaking Dawn due to the travesty that was our house). When I had completed all four and read Midnight Sun, I immediately started rereading Twilight.

Thus the cycle continued for weeks on end. I poured over the books, dissecting each part. At times, I would get so emotional about the story, I would literally throw the books across the room & storm out (poor Eclipse). At first my husband thought something was terribly wrong, however a month later he just believed I was insane. Especially after I stormed into our office and randomly yelled at him,"STUPID BELLA NEEDS TO STOP BEING A MORON! FREAKING MORON!! WHY WOULD SHE DO THAT TO EDWARD! EDWARD!!!" Then I'd rushed out of the room, back to the book where it laid on the floor to throw myself on the couch and start reading again.

I fell in love with not only the characters but with Meyer herself. I loved the story. The essence of it all. NO, I do not believe she is the greatest writter EVER, but I do believe she is a pretty damn good writer. And honestly, the woman created Mr. Cullen thus introduced Mr. Pattinson into my life, how could I not forever adore her?

All of that led me to pursuing the webernet in search of news, hell anything to keep the story going. Blogs, fan sites, fanfic, message boards.... I started sharing with my friends. Encouraging them to read the books while making sure to warn them their lives would NEVER be the same again. And this doesn't even touch the movie and the five times I saw it. Yep FIVE TIMES!

So there it is. A simple version of my Twi-story.

Well it has to be said, that cutie brought a lot of us together, I'm so thankful of this. When I read your story, cutie it totally reminds me of how we all got here. For the love of a book. Books we read not only once but many times in a row. You read it five times in a row? Well yes, I did the same!! I couldn't put them back, when finished one I started over with the next. "..warn them their live will never be the same again" This is so true, but I had no idea in what I was getting into, but even if I had know it I would have done the same!! When I read your post, I also totally enjoyed the comments, again it reminds me how it all begun - our friendship the community. Lovely comments there, from lovely people. :)

Links to cutie:

I loved reading all of the stories and although I know them all, read them before it's always lovely to look back. Apart from our immediate addiction we all didn't want to read them in the first place. Why? I guess because it was supposed to be a story for teen? Those years are over for the most of us, I mean I'm 31 and my girls featured today are about the same age, more or less. Teen girls all over the world seemed addicted to those books, so did we really want to read a cheesy love story. The answer in the end is easy: Yes, YES and Y E S!!!

So let me again ask you:
How is your Twistory, how did it all started?
Want to be featured here and
tell your story?
Write me!!
